Mixed-methods Approaches
Jakob-Moritz Eberl
Katharina Rupp is a PhD researcher at the Department of Communication Science at the University of Vienna. She completed her master's degree there, focusing in particular on the practice of self-diagnosis by social media users.
Her research examines the intersection of platform design and the well-being of emerging adults. Within the PROMISE project she investigates the efficacy of social media interventions in supporting digital agency by targeting the mechanisms of self-regulation and intentional disengagement. Methodologically, she employs a mixed-methods approach, combining behavioral data with qualitative reports to capture the dynamics between social media use and well-being.
